Hotel “Edelweiss”

I had not been to Camprodon in a very long time but I kept many good memories and I was looking forward to go back.  When I got the chance to spend a weekend there, I was thinking a lot about the accommodation. I did not want to make mistakes.

I needed a place where charm and tradition went hand in hand. I wanted to find a spot which had history, with a mountain spirit but comfortable at the same time. I was asking for a lot but at the end, I found it.

"Edelweiss" is located at the entrance of Camprodon; in fact, it's at the first roundabout. You can reach the city center in a pleasant walk in less than 10 minutes. The location is good. It is at the perfect distance to reach the town in a few minutes and at the perfect distance to enjoy the peace of mind that offers not being in the middle.

From the outside, the hotel is sober. It is a rectangular block of three floors with the windows painted in white. It is very well-maintained. The small garden at the entrance have some plants that are pampered and the 4 star poster guards the door.

Once inside, Gerard will make you feel like home. He wants everyone be happy, both inside and outside the hotel and he will do everything he can to achieve this. He will offer his help in everything and he even helps discover the area by explaining the best kept secrets.

On the ground floor, the reception is located, also the dining room and the living room. Everything is very rustic. The walls, the ceiling and the floor are made of wood. Impossible for the site to be more cozy! The living room is not too big. It has classic sofas and a quiet environment that invites you, do not ask me why, read during an entire afternoon.

In the upper floor there is a suite and a meeting room for companies (80 square meters) with a long board for 25 people and an exit to a private terrace. The rest of the rooms are all in the same style. Fairly wide, with wooden beds and headboards, desk, TV and a small balcony. The style is classic and the one that changes between them is the color of the curtains and the bedsheets.

One of the best things about the hotel is, without a doubt, the breakfast. It is a buffet of typical Catalan sausages. They are spectacular and not to mention the omelette which is unreal. Begin the day with the bread with tomato and these sausages ... it is priceless! Do not leave without trying the “spanish coca” too!

For those of you who are ski lovers, keep in mind that the hotel is located 20km from the Vallter 2000 station. In fact, in the same hotel there is a place for storing skis and they offer the ski tickets with a 10% discount.

Those who do not like this mountain sport, you can take advantage of visiting Camprodon that is wonderful and take bicycle or horseback routes to deepen the knowledge of the area. Gerard will hire you the activities you need. They also have agreements with a nearby camping to be able to rent the SPA or the city council to use of the municipal swimming pool.

The entire hotel has free Wi-Fi for tech-addicts.

In high season it is a very popular hotel. I recommend booking a room previously.
