Torret
Menorca (Spain)

Torret is one of my favorite places in Menorca. In the area, I really appreciate the absence of tourists and its architectural style.

It is located at the south of Sant Lluís and Maó, and should not be confused with Cala Torret, which is a much more frequented place. Torret is a group of white Menorcan-style houses. They are amazing and everyone fall in love. There are no shops in the area; in fact, the closest is Sa Botiga which is in S'Uestrà. There are a couple of restaurants: Pan y Vino and Sa Pedrera des Pujol (the latter is one of the best on the island). Nothing else. I suppose for this reason it is not very visited. The fact that you can walk completely alone in the middle of summer without meeting anyone is awesome for me.

On the main road of Torret, the one that goes from S'Uestrà to the road that connects Sant Lluís with Alcaufar, near the Pan y Vino restaurant there is a detour with containers. You have to leave the car here. It is one of the few places where you can do it. The streets are very narrow.

On this detour there are two streets: Ses Vinyes and Sa Vigia. In this case, you should take the Sa Vigia and go south. Turn around when it becomes Camino de S'Atalaia. At this point, there is not much left to reach Punta Prima.

There are 4.11 km without slope that can be covered on foot without any problem. It is an easy and quiet route to enjoy Menorca in its most authentic essence. I do not recommend doing it by bicycle because it is too short.

You can see the typical Menorcan houses which are wonderful, the dry stone walls, "tanques", land tortoises and even donkeys, which are a symbol of the island! In a few kilometers there is a representation of the most typical of Menorca. There is nothing to highlight and everything is remarkable.

Very close is the "Alcaufar Vell" hotel, which is my favorite! Take the opportunity to stay here and you'll see how you'll agree with me.

If you need and/or want help organizing your getaway, don't hesitate to send me an mail!
