I went on the recommendation of an expert in the restaurant industry, I had read all the comments online, I followed her on Facebook and I had checked every single photo of the dishes... but, Nuria's drive and creativity exceeded my expectations.
She is a fantastic host. She welcomed me with open arms, cordial and close at the same time. Sincere, transparent, as is, without hiding anything. We spent a while chatting in the back patio. We laugh and talk about projects at the same time. Without wasting time.
In the kitchen, Román Cuevas is working his magic. Polite and professional, he's always attentive to how his dishes are received. Lucia in the dining room and Marcel behind the bar complete this team that makes you want to say "I'll be back."
The restaurant occupies the historic ancestral home of "Can Baldiri". The front door is charming. The beautifully treated wooden shutters protect the blue doors. The combination is elegant.
The interior, renovated with exquisite taste, is very modern while retaining rustic touches. A blue sofa with pink velvet cushions stretches the length of the Bardaguer. Small wooden tables are scattered throughout and can be arranged as needed. The blue and white chairs are adorable.
Once there, I followed Nuria's recommendations.
Type: seasonal cuisine. I had the opportunity to try:
- Bonito ceviche - Presented in a small aluminum pot, which makes it fun. Very tasty.
- Zucchini, tuna, and carrot rolls with soy sauce – For me, one of the star dishes. A delightful contrast of flavors.
- Scallop ceviche - To die for. I can't say more. For all of you who love scallops, this dish is spectacular.
- Carpaccio of pig's trotters and porcini mushrooms, almonds and mustard sauce - When I return to "Bardaguer", I will order it again.
- Truffle omelet – It's in simple dishes where the quality of the ingredients is always most appreciated. This is a perfect example.
- Grilled monkfish with béchamel sauce and spinach - Delicious. I apologize because there's no photo of this dish.
- Banana and strawberry ravioli with passion fruit - There was no better way to end the meal. Amazing.
I want to emphasize that all products are locally sourced. They don't want or have frozen products, only fresh raw materials.
They also serve hearty breakfasts on weekends and drinks in the evenings.
Inauguration in the "Viure cada dia" of the Canal Català with Julià Peiró.
