Everyone likes the Empordà. This is obvious. There are people who have a weakness for Alt and there are also those who are in love with Baix; but we all find that romantic point that has us hooked. It is no coincidence that it is known as "our little" Tuscany.

This admiration for the region is justified by the amazing nature that it offers us; but, if we are also able to find great nooks with charming people, I think we can feel privileged. And that's how I felt there.

"La Sal" has a special charm. Draulio Soares and Vincent Libilbéhéty are responsible for this. Everyone has their space. The first one is in the dining room and/or terrace serving customers. He has everything under control. He is very attentive, but without being overbearing (as I like). Everybody loves him. The second is in the kitchen. He may be is more introverted, but infinitely kind. They both put their heart and soul into their project.

I love that it is in Saldet. You will wonder why, right? Well, because they have been able to find a place in the middle of the Empordà away from the crowds and away from the typical and frequented places. This gives it a different and special atmosphere.

The house is from the 17th century. Inside is very cute. The arches in the ceiling, the stone walls and the wooden floor give it a cozy look that makes you want to enter and never leave. Outside is wonderful. The terrace is where meals are served. Few tables but very well cared for. A little further from the house, is the garden where the siphons make lights and where a food track is the bar.

Type: modern Mediterranean cuisine with international touches and local products. As they say: "we offer today's dishes with flavors of a lifetime".

  • Appetizer: Puff pastry, pesto sauce and mozzarella - Good start!
  • Andalusian-style squid with spicy citrus alioli - The mixture of alioli, a bit spicy, with citrus is super successful and the squid batter is extremely fine.
  • Crispy sausage and apple with oriental plum sauce - One of the star dishes. Great mix of products! Sample of the fusion of Mediterranean with the oriental cuisine. Delicious.
  • Veal strips marinated with pepper sauce, lime and coriander - The lemon gives strength to the dish. Very good
  • Brazilian cassava flour and cheese rolls - Another of the star dishes. No one can leave without trying it. It is a 100% Brazilian dish that is clearly far removed from Mediterranean cuisine.
  • Crunchy goat cheese, apple, spinach and walnuts with raspberry sauce - A Mediterranean dish, refreshing and forceful at the same time.
  • Vegetarian Pad Thai with rice noodles, vegetables, peanuts and smoked tofu - Fusion with oriental cuisine reappears. Very delicate.
  • Carquinyolis tartlet stuffed with cottage cheese with honey and toasted pine nuts - Another of the star dishes. Amazing staging!
  • Chocolate Avocado Mousse with Raspberry Almond Coulis - It's not the first time I've had avocado with chocolate (Artte), but adding the raspberries is already excellent. Another dish to try.

They organize private events. I think it is a good place in Girona.

I took the opportunity to do water skiing in Ventalló. It is very close and the calm of the lake made me enjoy!

They take care of all the details. They are enthusiastic about your project.
